PCJSS
president Mr. Sudhasindhu Khisa addressed a gathering of 95 teachers of 13
junior high schools and high schools of Dighinala upazila of Khagarachari hill
district on Friday, 20 September. PCJSS general secretary Mr. Tatindta Lal
Chakma alias Major Pele was also present and spoke in the meeting. The meeting
was organized by the PCJSS at Dighinala sadar union parishad (union council)
auditorium which started at 11.45 am and continued till 3.00 pm.
This
view exchange meeting discussed present state of CHT situation. Many issues
came up in the discussion but the ongoing political violence and upcoming
national election got the priority with much importance. The teachers
participated in the discussion urged for immediate halt of the Jumma-bleeding
and expressed the need of fielding of unified Jumma candidates for sure victory
in the forthcoming general election. Recently such a meeting was also organized
at Khagarachari town with the teachers of Mohalchari upazila and Khagarachari
sadar upazila.
At
3.45 pm Mr. SS Khisa and Mr. Rupayan Dewan, vice president of the PCJSS
received a civil society group at Khagarachari town. The high profile
personalities of this civil society group and the PCJSS pres and pres exchanged
views on the present state of CHT situation. The meeting delivered fruitful
understanding.
On
15th instant Mr. Rupayan Dewan addressed a freshers' reception at
Dighinala Degree College as the chief guest. The reception was organized by the
PCP (Pahari Chatra Samiti/Hill Students Council) Dighinala Degree College
chapter and it was chaired by Mr. Gyana Chakma. The meeting was addressed by
Mr. Dharmavir Chakma, Dighinala upazila chairman, Mr. Naba Kamol Chakma,
prominent social worker of Maini valley, Mr. Kaladhan Chakma, Boalkhali UP
chairman, Mr. Pratay Chakma, secretary for student affairs, Khagarachari Thana
PCJSS and Mr. Aung San Thwee Marma Khelu, PCP president.
This
college is the lone one in Dighinala upazila which was founded in 1984.
Presently it has 3,000 students and this year it has received 935 students in
HSC 1st year (11th standard).
